After months of careful deliberation and logistical negotiating, the Tel Aviv municipality has finally announced the highly-anticipated details of the upcoming 2023 Tel Aviv Pride Parade. Recent large-scale construction projects throughout the city including the new Tel Aviv Light Rail and several coastal developments made the nature of the festivities uncertain. Last year, the entire event was moved to a highway in northern Tel Aviv, a decision which was met with heavy criticism as many attendees felt the move diminished the spirit and character of the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in Asia. In response, the Tel Aviv municipality has announced new changes to the 2023 festivities, which promise to be the biggest and most colorful pride event the Middle East has ever seen.

Every year since Tel Aviv Pride was first introduced as an official city-wide event in 1998, the parade has been held on early Friday afternoon starting in the city center and making its way to the beach, concluding with a huge party on the Mediterranean coast featuring live performances by the biggest pop stars in Israel.

This year however, for the first time ever, Tel Aviv Pride will be held across two days. The parade itself will be held on Thursday evening along the world-famous Tel Aviv beach promenade. This will allow the thousands of attendees to enjoy the bustling atmosphere of downtown Tel Aviv against the stunning backdrop of a Mediterranean sunset – without suffering from the heat of the midday sun.

The massive Tel Aviv Pride outdoor party that typically immediately follows the parade will be held as a separate event this year on Friday, June 9th, the day after the evening parade. The party will be held at Ganei Yehoshua Park in northern Tel Aviv, an outdoor venue which has hosted some of the biggest stars to ever perform in Israel. The party will begin at 12:00 noon and will extend until the early hours of the evening, just before the beginning of Shabbat, the Jewish sabbath.
